Detecting Divergences with Custom Indicators

How to Use Custom Indicators

Handpick your custom indicator, and the TRN SMT/Divergence Suite will automatically detect divergences in your chosen market and time frame. First, ensure the custom indicator is added to your chart. Then, open the TRN SMT/Divergence Suite’s settings and navigate to the “Parameters” section. Select External Indicator/SMT. If the custom indicator provides one reference value, assign it to the External Indicator/SMT (High) field. If it offers both high and low values (such as candle-based inputs), you must also populate the External Indicator/SMT (Low) field.

In the example image, we’ve used the Stochastic RSI. As shown, the TRN SMT/Divergence Suite instantly pinpoints and highlights both bullish and bearish divergences on the chart.

Make sure both the TRN SMT/Divergence Suite and your custom divergence indicator are displayed in the same panel and share the same chart scale. This setup ensures the suite accurately interprets and displays divergence signals from your external indicator.
